Hoe down: Plymouth Uni Graduations 2016
September saw us back on the stunning Hoe in Plymouth with Danco Marquees and The Waiting Game, delivering receptions to jubilant Plymouth University graduates and their families and friends.
As in past years, the event took place over a week with three receptions a day for six days and over 20,000 guests served.
The themes for this high profile event are ‘aspiration’ and ‘celebration’ with plenty of bubbles to mark the occasion; we popped 2,700 bottles of Prosecco as guests toasted Plymouth University’s class of 2016!
Our chefs created three separate food offers, catering for up to 1,350 guests per sitting, with nearly 300,000 individual food items handmade and served on biodegradable palm leaf plates.
Over the six days of graduation week we also provided canapé receptions for a number of smaller events including Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, Plymouth City Council’s staff Star Awards and welcome parties for 700 new students.
We drew on the plethora of talent at Plymouth University, employing 40 students who worked both front and back of house throughout the week.
We even hosted a marriage proposal between graduates with the groom-to-be getting down on one knee in the post graduation marquee. Needless to say, she said yes and we were on hand to help them celebrate in true Fosters style.
So let’s raise a glass to Plymouth University’s class of 2016 and wish all of this year’s graduates success in their chosen fields. Bottoms up!
