Venue Feature: The Great Tythe Barn
On the eve of the South West Regional Wedding Industry Awards, we caught up with Rebecca Harwood, Event Manager at the 16th-century, Great Tythe Barn, set on a 200 acre estate at the edge of Tetbury village.
“We’re super excited about our nomination as Best Events Team as the award is voted for by our bride and grooms and that means the world to us. Last year we got ‘highly commended’ in Best Venue but this is more personal as it’s about the service we deliver and vindicates all our hard work.”
“The award would just be the icing on the cake though because the proof of the pudding is that we’re really busy with enquiries. We’re getting around 10 a day, which for late November is great. We’re nearly fully booked for next year, which is a great position to be in, and we’re expecting our Wedding Fayre on Sunday 10th January to be very busy.”
Although weddings account for the majority of their events, The Great Tythe Barn is no one trick pony. “We’re popular for everything from Christenings to Conferences. The barn itself can be divided into four different areas and for smaller events we have a beautiful Orangery with a glass roof and views of the gardens.”
“Corporate Events love coming here as you feel like you’re really getting away from it all but we’re only we have all the mod cons you could want.
“It is the weddings that we love though. Our Event Manager Lauren got married here earlier this year and so her first-hand experience is invaluable to us. So now, when our clients ask us a question, Lauren can answer with the ultimate authority”.
