Out of this world!

ACEs 02.12.16 (9)December is one of our busiest months of the year as we dedicate ourselves to ensuring that our many Christmas events are pitch perfect.

We had some wonderful themes to work with this year; from Carnival in Cheltenham to Christmas in Lapland, Prohibition and Circus themes in Bristol.

The most spectacular, by far, was an out of this world, ‘space age’ theme designed and produced for a corporate client by the brilliant team at Alastair Currie Events.

ACEs 02.12.16 (1)Our Executive Head Chef, Tom Green, had a field day with the theme designing six futuristic canapés with pops of colour presented to focus the guests attention on the vibrancy of the food.

The starter was an interstellar ‘Inflight Service Tray’ which took guests from East to underwater and then out of this world with a selection of delicacies that included smoked chicken, sesame seared Yellow fin tuna, king prawn & octopus ceviche and maki roll.

StarterThe 1st Class main course was a contemporary delivery of a perennial favourite; roast fillet of 28 day dry aged Hereford beef, slow cooked beef shin, shallot & tarragon bon bon, red wine jus, served with purple potato purée, roast carrot & smashed sprouts.

The spectacular looking Solar System Sweet was a trio of chocolate spheres, dark, milk & white, sat on a bright intergalactic background and served with space dust.

DessertThe meal concluded with a Space Savoury of blue cheese panna cotta, pear, black treacle & cranberry toast served in an optical illusion double walled glass.

Alice Peacock of Alastair Currie Events commented, “Once again Fosters provided an incredibly innovative and attractive menu, both from a taste and presentation point of view. We were delighted with the impact this provided, and with the attention to detail from the Fosters team. It is always a pleasure to work with such high-quality chefs, front of house and waitressing staff – this year’s ‘out of this world’ catering triumph was no exception”.
