October Supplier Spotlight: Voyager Coffee

To celebrate what is perhaps everyone’s favourite week of the year, UK Coffee Week, we are championing one of our wonderful coffee suppliers. Introducing... Voyager Coffee that supplies our fantastic site The Box Kitchen & Bar in Plymouth.

Voyager pride themselves on finely curating ‘uncompromisingly good coffee’ and have grown from a one-man start-up, all the way to the thriving, multi-award-winning coffee-hub that they have become today.

Throughout their conception, they were clear about the root of their inspiration, and the growing business that they have become still remains testament to the wild and beautiful South West landscape and coastline. Their roastery is located on the edge of the rugged Dartmoor in Buckfastleigh, where the team lovingly hand roast each and every small batch to produce an exciting and flavoursome single-origin coffee experience.

Voyager is at the forefront of Devon’s new and exciting coffee scene, bolstered by their dedication to sourcing rich and tasty coffee from sustainable farms around the world. They partner with experts in ethical sourcing that have the infrastructure in each country to support each small farm and the ability to commit to buying a farm's full harvest, creating a more ethical way of working than simply buying from the farms directly. They supply coffee shops, cafes, and hotels across the South West with the region's best tasting coffee, and of course this includes our very own The Box Kitchen & Bar and The Little Box.

Additionally, like us, they believe in minimising their environmental footprint, making them the first coffee roaster in Devon or Cornwall (as far as we know) to only use 100% compostable packaging. Their coffee bags are made from plants, a renewable source that composts easily and even improves the soil to grow more plants.

But they don’t stop there, Voyager also provides businesses with the latest equipment and training through the Voyager Coffee Academy in which they provide Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) training for anyone looking to step up their coffee skills.
